Sanchita

After months of apprehension and nervousness, Sanchita emerged as the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Little Champs last year. All of 14 years, this little singing sensation from Howrah took the nation by storm with her power-packed performances. She faced tough competition from the other finalists. In fact, the day of the finale, Sanchita was the only one who admitted to being nervous about the outcome. With approximately 45 lakh votes in her favor, she won by a fairly narrow margin. Known for her strong voice and range, she deserves every bit of praise and fame to her credit. And with her win, she broke the pattern and proved that girls too can win singing contests. It wasn't all smooth sailing though. The little crooner had to work hard to improve her Hindi diction along with her singing to compete with the rest. Inspired by singing legends such as Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, Sanchita also loves new age singers like Sunidhi Chauhan along with Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs judge Alka Yagnik. Apart from singing, the gal is a self-confessed fan of Karan Johar flicks like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and her favorite actor is Iqbaal Khan.

Sameer

Just as his name suggests, this singer breezed through the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs competition like a gust of wind. He's as big on singing as he is small in appearance. Sameer, the second runner up of the contest, was the self-proclaimed brat of the Little Champs pack. With just the right mix of confidence and modesty, the 11-year-old's attitude was enough to take him to the top. He would boldly sing classical songs in his own style and would justify this by saying that what's past is past, we must look ahead. Music is in his genes, with a music director for a father and an uncle who's trained him in singing since an early age. Based in Mumbai, Sameer managed to get around 43 lakh votes in the grand finale, and loves the fact that the competition has everyone recognizing his face even when he walks on the street. His inspirations include Shaan and the legendary Kishore Kumar. He is an ardent Salman Khan fan and his all-time favorite film is the original Don. All-in-all, Sameer is the perfect blend of classic Indian-ness with a contemporary outlook.

Diwakar

Nature has it's ways of ensuring that each one of us is gifted in our own special way, and what better example of this than Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs first runner up, Diwakar! Visually impaired since birth, Diwakar wowed audiences with his mesmerizing performances, and this was enough to win him votes right up to the final stage, where he came a close second with around 44 lakh votes. At age 13, Diwakar has an undying spirit and confidence that can shake even the best. He is amazingly mature for his age and despite his impairment, he never asked for any special treament on the show. It is this attitude that was a sureshot win. Though mid-way through the competition, he was eliminated by the judges, the public soon voted him back in. In fact, two viewers wrote in to him and said when they die, they'd like to give their eyes to him. Though Diwakar did find himself in the midst of controversy with two judges believing that he was getting votes based on his impairment, he has come a long way in proving his mettle.
